Project Updates

Allow me to introduce myself- my name is Gabriel C. Taylor. I am a filmmaker from the Seattle area, a recent graduate from the Seattle Film Institute's MFA program, and the editor for NuSol's documentary detailing their work in Selva Alegre, Peru.

NuSol is thrilled to announce its upcoming project collaboration with Fondesurco, Peru’s largest nonprofit microfinance institution, to bring solar energy to rural families via NuSol’s Central Charging Station (CCS).

There is no universal law which dictates that good intentions will result in positive outcomes. In fact, examples can be found throughout history, and most certainly in our own lives, where ambitions to do “good” have resulted in unforeseen negative consequences. Arguably, the expectation that one’s actions will positively....

We formally apologize for our blogging delinquency. We returned from Peru in January energized by the sweet taste of success. Unfortunately, that taste was quickly washed away by a sobering bucket of reality filled to the brim with the deliverables required to meet our objectives for 2011....

NuSol has emerged from the Andes Mountains successful! The Peru Solar 2010 project is complete and the remote Peruvian village of Nueva Union now has access to clean, reliable solar electricity.....

Who is right? The coming months will tell. The members and supporters of NuSol Capacity Fund have no choice but to subscribe to Leonard Bernstein's point of view. For although we have a solid plan, little time remains to bring it to fruition. Our confidence however has been buoyed by a series of major accomplishments and a number of key additions to the NuSol team.

For NuSol Capacity Fund, last week was rich with success. In Peru, the extensive search for a partnering community came to a conclusion via a unanimous vote by the citizens of Nueva Unión to accept NuSol’s 2010 project offering. Stateside, NuSol formalized its relationship with WAACO (Washington Attorneys Assisting Community Organizations), allowing for continued progress towards the completion of required operational formalities.

As is the case with any complex endeavor, one anticipates and comes to expect the existence of adversity and unforeseen challenges. Last week, NuSol's Peru Solar 2010 project received it's first piece of discouraging news - the District of Shupluy, previously the location of our proposed...
